I am a molecular biologist with extensive research experience in developmental neurobiology. In my research, I am interested in the formation of neural circuits and the coding principles of the developing human brain. I am using stem cell-derived, subtype-specific human neurons to study those fundamental processes in the healthy and diseased brain. Highlights of my skills include: ⋅ Expertise in the directed differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells into neuronal subtypes for disease modeling in vitro. ⋅ Experienced in gene editing of human and mouse pluripotent stem cells, in vitro 2D and 3D cell culture systems, and assays. ⋅ Proficient in the generation and characterization of mouse models for advanced in vivo imaging approaches of the brain. ⋅ Extensive skill set in molecular and cell biology. ⋅ An established record of independent experimental design and execution resulting in multiple publications in high-impact journals.
