I was interested in developing cool products with great people. That's how I climbed the career ladder by chance, so to speak. To make the long story short: I have found that I can attribute significant successes in my career to 6 learnings. And the best thing: I could repeat these successes in different career steps and companies. # 6 fundamental learnings: 1) People to the power of 2: Success = (Customer * Team Members) + Process + Tools 2) BEING and DOING are two sides of the same life For me, silence and solitude were essential enablers to keep overview and control. Ever thought about why it is called human-being and not human-doing? 3) Trust the wisdom of the team: I quickly learned that when you are opening the space and time for the team things automatically fall in the right place. 4) Communication is essential to success I dedicated time and attention for personal direct exchange. I learned, that spending more time on communicating with customers, co-workers and team saved a lot of time in rework and “damage control”. 5) Empower your co-workers: They have the ideas, they shall execute. my role is to facilitate and enable the team to do the job. Don’t forget to celebrate successes! 6) Raise your head: “STOP” and step back helped me a lot. Every problem has been solved by someone at some point. Lifting my head to look around and searching for existing solutions solved a ton of problems in my career.
