- Re-architected and implemented data-warehousing solution for Digital Content Ownership use-case from scratch (comprising of 100TB worth of critical ownership data) which directly helped generate ads and led to monetary benefits. (293K USD to 383K USD for a 4-week duration that also included other optimisations). This involved solving complex technical challenges like schema design and formulating the primary key for the ware-house. - Reduced tech footprint by deprecating a legacy EMR based data-warehousing solution and other supporting auxiliary services. - Single threaded owner for the extension of Amazon's SimpleSignIn (SSO) functionality on Fire devices to the newer AOSP centric FireOS. Drastically improved the application's settings component's robustness by eliminating ANRs due to long running processes on the UI thread.
- Played an instrumental role for a new Amazon device launch. Influenced design and implemented the solution for transforming the device-bound directives at cloud-side for the new device family. - Dove deep to resolve age-old pain points in key customer-impacting deletion API flows of legacy services and optimized them to reduce the operational burden by 25 trouble-tickets per month, and strengthening the robustness of the service’s compliance to customer privacy - deletion laws. - Lead the data-store migration (comprising of 12 TB worth of critical device account ownership data) for the legacy Device Authentication Service in the challenging AWS-CN region to migrate to DynamoDB from an Amazon-internal NoSQL datastore thereby reducing costs by 36K USD per year. Eliminated scalability and availability bottllenecks of legacy system through this solution that also launched support for large customers (with multiple device accounts) in CN region. - Implemented customer privacy GDPR compliance flows for critical device ownership and digital content ownership data, helping Amazon customers in CN region to retrieve their personal data in the form of an electronic document. - Was the SPOC for high velocity events and saved a huge sum spent in infrastructure for the device management services by estimating service scales based on traffic for high traffic events like Prime day, Christmas deals etc. where the entire fleet of the services I was responsible for, served a combined 2 Million+ TPS during the peak.
- Designed and implemented an on-demand live log publisher using the ELK stack for multiple high-volume, tier-1 cloud services to optimistically use a shared fleet for indexing logs and realised a benefit of 31K USD per month. - Developed a couple of web-based tools for enabling clients to view device ownership info, and device allowlisting using a combination of HTML, CSS Amazon Horizonte and Java Spring MVC. The tool to view device ownership info is the most widely used web tool across Amazon internal stakeholders for devices.
I worked as an intern in the IT department of DTDC Express and gained immense knowledge on the functioning of a logistics company and their technology stack. I formulated simple SQL queries for their relational database and eventually ended up implementing a simple distributed database system for demonstration purposes of the L&D department.
