Provide professional leadership and support to 182 American Centers (formerly Information Resource Centers - IRCs) located at U.S. embassies and consulates around the world, and to the 475 locally employed staff who operate them. In addition to over 600 American Spaces in partner institutions worldwide. Served as an Information Resource Officer (IRO) in the Office of American Spaces in Washington, DC and the U.S. Embassy Abuja, Nigeria. Previously, the Regional Public Engagement Specialist (REPS) in Bogotá, Colombia serving the countries of Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador. And the Regional IRO, based in Accra, Ghana, with responsibilities for the American Spaces in the countries of Ghana, Benin, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Liberia, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone and Togo. The Division of Public Programs provides national leadership in humanities public programs through support of a wide range of public humanities programs that reach diverse public audiences. The Senior Program Officer advises applicants on the division’s grant competitions, on the peer review process, and on particular proposals. Review and analyze grant applications; select panelists; attend and chair peer review panel meetings; assist in formulating recommendations on applications and present them to the National Council and the Chairman of the Endowment. Provide advise on the provisions of grant awards; monitor active grants; stay abreast of work in the field of humanities scholarship and scholarly activity in the humanities in general. Initiate and maintain constituent relationships with individuals, and cultural, educational, and other institutions and organizations; performs site visits; provides agency-related presentations at meetings of scholarly societies; and presents workshops at museums, libraries, colleges and universities.
