Hardworking, determined, passionate Instructor Therapist thoroughly trained in principles of applied behaviour analysis and autism spectrum disorder. Strong dedication to the development of children and youth and always seeking opportunities for professional development.
I utilize principles of applied behavioural analysis to change socially significant behaviours across many developmental domains by delivering 1:1 behavioural therapy to children who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This also includes implementing parent mediator training to teach the child's parents to implement specific programming, preparing teaching materials, participating in treatment planning, managing challenging behaviours, and collecting and analyzing behavioural data.
I directly supported a young child who has ASD by assisting with the creation and implementation of a specialized educational program for him which focused on increasing appropriate communication skills, managing aggressive/problematic behaviours, and increasing his independence by targeting self-help skills.
I utilized principles of applied behavioural analysis to change socially significant behaviours across many developmental domains with children who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). I was also responsible for collecting, graphing, and analyzing behavioural data, managing excessive behaviours, and conducting curriculum assessments.
I completed a 4 week placement and a six week placement in the Autism Intervention Program where I provide Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) to children who have autism spectrum disorder.
I provided assistance to other students in the Autism and Behavioural Science Program who needed extra help in courses such as, Introduction to Applied Behaviour Analysis, Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specialized Instructional Strategies, and Ethics and Professionalism
