Over the last decade, I have worked on numerous projects directed at addressing socio-economic issues in underdeveloped communities, such as youth unemployment, parenting and family dynamics, and access to education. Through working with communities, I have gained an interest in social justice, skills development, and Early Childhood Development.
Skills Development and Self Empowerment program.
- Delivering the aRe Bapaleng Program to underserved communities in Gauteng through active learning workshops and awareness campaigns with a focus on ECD. Organizing and planning activities for the Caregiver Networkers to meet the programme targets. Managing 200 National Youth Service Programme champions by NYDA through creating work plans and activities, providing resources, and offering holistic support. Liaising with team leaders to ensure that deliverables are understood, addressing challenges, and finding workable solutions. Partner Relations, managing the relationship and collaborating on relevant campaigns.
I have 8 years of experience in managing CWP participants in Phumelela and implementing their work plan. My responsibilities included creating and managing gardens in schools, libraries and community gardens. I also assisted ECDs in providing training that is offered by Lima and help establish nutrition food plans for children. Additionally, I provided assistance to local NGOs in feeding programs. Assisted old age home with care support by cleaning, taking them to their weekly clinic check-up, and helping them with feeding scheme. Attending monthly meetings with the local mayor for updates and planning for project. Plan and organize trainings for ECD and Agriculture relations.
Plan and coordinate events in schools and community halls with the aim of raising awareness on teenage pregnancy and HIV prevention in the community. I also established partnerships with clinics to educate teenagers and parents on sexual health and the risks of HIV. At clinics, I promoted awareness to teenagers and parents on sexual intercourse and the high risks of HIV. Additionally, I plan more events with the Department of Art and Culture to involve more youth to be active and focus on more positive and motivating activities.
