The primary role of the Senior Admissions Fellow is to represent Middlebury College to visiting students and families by leading 30-minute information sessions, assisting with campus open house events, being an ambassador of the College, and supporting various other projects throughout the academic year. As a Fellow, I do not only offer valuable student perspectives on Middlebury College to visiting students and their families but I also gain exposure and experience in all cycles of the college admissions process.
• Present 30-minute information sessions (virtually and in-person) to prospective students who are of color, first-generation, or come from low-income background in the DE, MD, and PA area, making the college admissions process more accessible and inclusive • Liaise with high school counselors in the DE, MD, and PA area to inquire about giving information sessions, or connecting with students 1:1 to answer any questions they may have and help them navigate the admissions process
• Interact with 15+ families daily, checking them in for college tours and answering the phone • Accurately and appropriately represent the college by staying up to date with resources and events to tailor admissions advice to prospective students while addressing their needs
• Managed and allocated $6000+ budget to events that align with the organizations purpose: to encourage community service and perpetuate an atmosphere of unconditional friendship and loyalty through shared experiences and goals based on the house pillars of Fides, Concordia, and Dignatio (Trust, Unity, and Respect) • Aided in the collaboration efforts with volunteer organizations on and off campus to give back to the local community
• Provide a welcoming space to engage with fellow college students 1:1 for 15-minute drop-in sessions to review their resumes and cover letters, offer networking tips, and other career-related advice • Offer resume and cover letter-building workshops to groups of 30+ students, making CCI resources more accessible
• Oversee 10 executive members and distribute tasks accordingly to ensure effective event planning for 2500+ students • Manage $400,000+ budget, allocating to diverse and accessible events that best serve the needs of the student body • Inquire with catering and vendors, compare prices, and negotiate to secure top-quality services at competitive rates
• Collaborated with 10 executive board members to organize diverse and accessible events • Communicated events to the student body (2500+ students) by providing concise details in an easily understood manner • Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and Crowd Control Certified
