The son of FORD car company Accounting Supervisor father and government Chinese primary school teacher mother. He also has a brother, older by two years, who is the award-winning and famous architect has won numerous architect awards in three decades. He and his brother selected and went to the number one top or "elite" school, Keat Hwa Government Chinese Secondary School or Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Keat Hwa in Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia. In fact, he remembers his government Chinese primary school teacher mother as being a disciplinarian both in school and at home, and how that gave him "a strong sense of responsibility". It also ingrained in him the ethos of making sure he does something well once he commits to it. Thereafter, he won as Champions in numerous Drawings, Martial Arts Competition since 1980 and toughest Special Forces Selection Test in February 1993, plus personally and globally accomplished nine (9) most dangerous hostages rescue missions from 1993.
