Photography curator and consultant for art projects, photographer. She designs and arranges exhibitions, edits photography books, and works with photographers on their individual projects at various stages of their development. Graduate of the Faculty of Multimedia Communication majoring in Photography, Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. Since 2016, she was on the program council and was the chief curator of the FFWRS Frames of Sopot Festival of Photography, organized by the State Gallery of Art and the City of Sopot. She led the artistic residency program at the festival, where she prepared photographic projects together with many artists and designing the group shows - including Zuza Krajewska, Kacper Kowalski, Witek Orski, Piotr Zbierski, Tadeusz Rolke, Ilona Szwarc and others. She presented and designed premiere exhibitions of artists i.e. Grzegorz Wełnicki, Hubert Humka, Tomasz Wysocki. She initiated and coordinated the Baltic Program of making the festival international by inviting worldwide recognizable artists as well as the new wave of photographers. From 2008 to 2013 she was program director, curator and board member of Yours Gallery in Warsaw. She has collaborated in the creation of debut projects and design of exhibitions by now recognized artists Rafal Milach, Bownik, Adam Panczuk, as well as international recogizable photographers. In the past decade, she has traveled dozens of times around the world in connection with her work on Tomasz Gudzowaty's photography projects. She has been involved in researching and developing subjects, collaborating on the photographic set, as well as editing finished material, designing books and exhibitions. She is an editor of photography books including Katarzyna Mirczak -Eter, Tomasz Gudzowaty - Photography as a Love Poem, PROOF, Patryk Bulhak - Abandoned Daughters of the Tiger. In 2007-2008 she was artistic director of the photo magazine Pozytyw 00. She was a member of the jury of many photo competitions, including Kolga Photography Awards Tbilisi and a reviewer of portfolio reviews at the Rencontres Arles festival in France and Month of Photography in Krakow, among others. On a daily basis, he works individually with photographers and artists in the creation of photography-related projects. She is also the author of individual photography projects, in recent years, she has co-created photographic projects centered around themes of human attitudes toward the world, including Borderline Personality and Lelo Buri. She is the co-author of portraits for the book Georgian Taste, published in 2015.
I work as a photography consultant with artist and photographers on their individual longterm documentary and conceptual projects at various stages of development. I’m editing projects for exhibitions proposals, contests, books. I curate and design exhibitions for artist, galleries and other institutions.
Frames of Sopot Festival of Photography is a very dynamically developing photography festival. Apart from individual exhibitions, premieres, workshops and artists meetings, its main element is the Residency Program, resulting in group exhibition each year. I worked with photographers on developing their individual projects and the design of this exhibition. Together with the team, we develop the program and themes of the festival. I was also a curator of solo shows and initiator of international Baltic Program.
For many years I worked on photographic projects for the award-winning photographer Tomasz Gudzowaty. During our cooperation, his many photo-essey series won several prestigious awards at such competitions as World Press Photo, Photographer of the Year International, IPA, Black & White Spider Awards. It was a multidimensional cooperation involving all stages of photographers' projects - from the very beginning to the conclusion in a form of an exhibition or a publication. I was involved in artistic and technical consultations while choosing the projects’ subjects as well as in research that influenced the projects' character and direction later on. I was also working always as the photographer's assistant during photoshoots, both while traveling and studio sessions. I edited photographic series for specific presentation formats, publications, competitions, exhibitions and books.
Yours Gallery was one of the first professional private galleries in Poland specializing in photography. In this gallery, I was the main curator, responsible for its annual program, choosing and working with the artists as well as designing the exhibitions. I focused on presenting the most interesting contemporary photography which transgressed the traditional division between documentary and fine art. I focused on well-known and valued artists from all over the world whose shows had not been presented in Poland before, at the same time designing one-of-a-kind, unique exhibitions for them in consideration of the gallery space and its exhibition advantages. I also concentrated the most interesting new Polish photographers and organized their premiere shows which often launched interesting careers. Thanks to my background in photography, I was able to support the photographers on the artistic and technical level while they developed their projects.
