I am a PhD candidate in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, working at the intersection of enhanced oil recovery, enhanced geothermal systems, and CCUS. My research focuses on developing economically viable pathways for CO₂ utilization in geothermal applications, with a broader goal of enabling low to zero emission oilfield operations. I am particularly interested in how subsurface flow, heat transfer, and reservoir heterogeneity interact, and how challenging conventional assumptions can lead to more efficient energy systems. With a background in gas hydrate research during my Master’s, I have developed a strong foundation in multiphase flow and subsurface modeling. I now apply these principles to geothermal and CCUS problems, where the coupling between fluid dynamics and thermal processes is critical. I work extensively with CMG for reservoir simulation, along with data analysis and scientific visualization to interpret complex system behavior and communicate results clearly. I approach research with a simple mindset, understanding fundamentals deeply is the only reliable way to challenge existing narratives and build better solutions. Frustration is not a barrier, it is part of the process.
As a research assistant, I navigate between my personal scientific research and my mentor’s long term and short term research projects. I endeavour in a continuous literature review, writing and editing across all possible ideas and concepts. I am comfortable with scientific figure conceptualisation and visualisation. Learning a new software has become part of my workflow. I focus mostly on simulation and analysis, rather than lab experiments.
