Hi! I’m a Software Engineer at THG, where I help keep stock and availability systems running smoothly for over 700 websites and 6M+ products. I enjoy working on complex systems, whether it’s improving performance, making integrations seamless, or mentoring newer engineers. I’ve had the chance to contribute to some exciting projects, like supporting the Dropship platform for big clients like Zavvi and Honda, and helping onboard bespoke clients such as Matalan, building tools to manage stock across 200+ stores. Along the way, I’ve focused on keeping systems reliable, scalable, and easy to work with for everyone on the team. Outside of the code, I’m passionate about collaborating across teams, learning new technologies, and finding small ways to make workflows smoother — whether that’s optimizing a database query or mentoring a colleague on a tricky bug.
- Maintaining availability systems powering stock data across 120+ warehouses and 300+ retail stores. - Migrated 10+ backend services from CentOS VMs to Kubernetes, making deployments more reliable and scalable. - Supported decommissioning of the Dropship platform for major clients (Zavvi, Honda), consolidating legacy services into a modern Spring Boot 3, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes stack. - Implemented ActiveMQ TLS Certificate Authorization to strengthen security. - Mentor to graduate engineers, sharing knowledge and helping the team stay aligned.
- Helped optimize Tyche, THG’s availability platform, cutting redundant calculations and easing database load for millions of products. - Contributed to onboarding Matalan, developing UI tools for store teams to manage buffer stock across 200+ stores. - Collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, resilient system integrations. - Migrated monitoring stack from Nagios to Zabbix, improving visibility and reducing false alerts. - Worked on 3PL client integrations (Pentland, Celio, ICP) including providing out-of-hours support for major launches, ensuring stock processes and APIs run smoothly.
- Developed and maintained Spring Boot microservices for procurement and stock management. - Built tools like Booking UI, Receipt Reconciliation, and Procurement Integration to reduce manual effort. - Supported new team members and coordinated cross-team testing.
