About

I am a Director of Technology at cultureNOW, a platform that consolidates art, architecture, and historical information into a digital database of cultural assets spread across the US and parts of the world. My current project involves conceiving and overseeing the design and implementation of a visual mapping feature that enhances the user experience and accessibility of the cultureNOW database. Previously, I was part of a Harvard-NASA research team where I helped develop novel deep space habitation solutions. Presently, I am actively looking for ways to get involved in Space Policy recommendation, and the larger space exploration industry, through independent research with academics from the Northeastern University. With 12 years of combined experience as an architect and a designer, I am passionate about finding cross-disciplinary solutions that combine design thinking, research, and technology. I am always eager to learn new subjects and technologies, and to share my insights and vision through writing, training, and mentoring.

    - Conceived and now overseeing the design and implementation of a visual mapping effort for the cultureNOW database. The cultureNOW platform consolidates art, architecture, and historical information (maps, texts, images, etc.), into a digital database of cultural assets spread across the US and parts of the world, which is being upgraded to version 3.0. Searching through this database on the existing platform is highly textual and as the director of tech, I am developing a georeferenced visual network map, UI aspect wherein the user can see connections between the people, places and events spread across the globe through time and get a high-level glimpse of the information available instead of scrolling through reams of search results. - Streamlined workflow of georeferencing historical maps (more accurately than any GIS software currently available) and came up with an open-data fed hazard map of cultural assets which cross references our georeferenced database with the effect of climate change (such as sea level rise, wildfires, etc.). This is currently under implementation. - Researching topics to expand the existing CultureNOW database. - Supervising and assisting the dev-team through the implementation of UI/UX design and image-recognition on the platform.
