I am a Transportation Engineer with 8+ years of experience within the transportation field. I obtained my Master of Engineering degree at the University of Toronto with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering and Planning together with finance, leadership, and management courses part of the University of Toronto ELITE Certificate program. Ahead of obtaining my Master’s degree I completed the Civil Engineering undergraduate program at Ryerson University. Currently, I am a Transportation Engineer at BA Group. I provide design reviews and assessments for proposed developments, with respect to transportation related areas, throughout their approval process. Prior to this, I was worked as a transportation analyst for 2+ years. My responsibilities include the following: • Preparing site plan reviews • Preparing functional road plans for proposed master plans / block plans • Geometric and functional design of intersections • Assessing site access arrangements and internal site vehicular circulation using AutoTrack software to create vehicular manoeuvring diagrams • Providing assessment and design of: parking, loading, ramps, accessibility, and other transportation facilities throughout a site development • Preparing signage and pavement marking plans • Preparing transportation studies and supplementary document material for Zoning By-law Amendment and Site Plan Approval applications • Ensuring Zoning By-law requirements are met and provide justification for alternative solutions, as necessary • Applying standards from the Ontario Traffic Manual, Transportation Association of Canada Manual, Highway Capacity Manual, MTO Geometric Design Standards, and ITE Trip Generation Manual
My responsibilities included: • Preparing Transportation Impact Studies, Parking Studies, and Transportation Management Plans • Preparing terms of reference for local districts and municipalities (under the City of Toronto and Greater Toronto Area jurisdictions) to ensure the proposed scope of work is in compliance with the respective transportation department requirements • Evaluating existing study area conditions, referring to official plans and transportation master plans for planned transportation infrastructure projects and initiatives, coordinating traffic data collection, preparing traffic analyses • Determining future site trip generation and distribution using ITE Trip Generation Manual, TTS data, and existing traffic travel patterns • Using Synchro 10 and SimTraffic simulations to analyze and optimize, if required, existing, future background horizon, and future total traffic conditions • Assessing level of service, queuing lengths, traffic operations, sight line analysis, lane and signal warrants – recommending road or signal improvements, where necessary • Evaluating parking, site circulation, and transportation demand management • Ensuring Zoning By-law requirements are met and provide justification, if necessary, apply standards from the Ontario Traffic Manual, Transportation Association of Canada Manual, Highway Capacity Manual, MTO Geometric Design Standards, and ITE Trip Generation Manual • Organizing traffic analyses and providing findings and recommendations in a formal report • Attending consultation and community/public meetings • Preparing proposals for consultation services including transportation impact studies, parking utilization studies, traffic briefs, etc.
I tutored elementary and highschool students in Math and Reading since I was a student in highschool. Being a tutor allowed me to help others overcome any struggles and strengthen their skills in the math and reading subjects. My main responsibilities included helping children (grades seven and up) with math and reading, taking initiative to complete various tasks, and interacting with parents on the progress of their child.
I worked alongside the Engineering Enrichment and Outreach Coordinator at the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science.
