I have a Bachelors degree in History at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Nova University of Lisbon with a minor in Art History in Portugal, which has enabled me to acquire the tools necessary for a more rigorous study of visual sources. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in History, specializing in Modern History and European Expansion at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. Because I am deeply interested in History and everything that surrounds it, I take courses to complement my history education, such as: Pombaline Paleography and “A few monuments from Paris” at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Sorbonne. Outside my field of study, I dedicate myself to volunteering, especially at the Casa de Saúde de Idanha (Idanha Health Center), where I was invited to join the Youth Vocational Pastoral Team there. I also continue to participate in music as a saxophonist in several bands and a chorister in the Alba Atlântica Ensemble.
During this internship, I performed various tasks, including: - Pombaline paleographic transcription; - Proofreading of scientific texts; - Historical research; - Social media management assistance; - Conference assistance.
Identification and systematization of information related to animals in 16th-century emblem books written in Latin and Spanish, and organization of the information for researcher Catarina Simões project, “Visualizing difference. Emblematic animals in cross-cultural histories of knowledge.”
I carried out a summer internship in June and July 2023, at the Monastery of Saint Mary of Cós, where I worked as a guide on guided tours of the Monastery, in Portuguese and English. The internship lasted a total of 119 hours.
To finish the secondary music supplementary course I had to take an Artistic Aptitude Test, one of the components of this test was theoretical and therefore I had to carry out a project whose theme O Trajeto do saxofone na Banda Sinfónica de Alcobaça após o seu Ressurgimento (1985) (“The trajectory of the saxophone in the Alcobaça Symphonic Band after its Resurgence (1985)”) where I had to research the digital program notes and discography of Alcobaça Band and I also did 3 interviews with three different saxophonists from each generation who played in the Alcobaça Band. Later, on the day of the presentation of my Artistic Aptitude Test (theoretical and practical component) I had to give a presentation and oral defense of my theoretical work to a panel of juries made up of the management in charge of the institution's Supplementary Secondary Education in Music, from the Alcobaça Music Academy.
