Thesis subject: Computational modeling for evaluating the efficacy of protective plates in preventing non-penetrating combat-related injuries Supervised by: Prof. Amit Gefen and Prof. Yoram Epstein Industry Collaborations: SitnStand (2022-2023) - Headed the development of a portable LiDAR-based motion capture system to analyze sitting-to-standing movements, subsequently assessing the efficacy of the SitnStand chair lift assist device in reducing fall risks and minimizing back injuries. Paul Hartmann AG (2021-2022) - Led the creation of a computational model to evaluate the biomechanical effectiveness of a soft cellulose fluff core dressing in preventing chest pressure ulcers among prone surgical patients. Bruin Biometrics LLC (2021-2022) - Engineered a machine learning algorithm for the early detection of heel deep tissue injuries utilizing sub-epidermal moisture readings. Successfully trained the algorithm, demonstrating robust predictive capabilities Direct Healthcare Group (DHG) (2020-2021) – Developed a computational model to explore the optimal mattress envelopment for dispersing sacral tissue stress concentrations, a critical factor in pressure ulcer prevention. Hill-Rom (2019-2020)- Conducted in-depth analysis of raw human motion data from a motion capture system, integrating findings into a computational model to comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness of Hill-Rom’s migration-reduction technology, StayInPlace. Permobil Group (2016-2017) - Investigated buttock tissue responses during toilet sitting through computational modeling, hemodynamic measurements on patients, advanced signal analysis, and Interface pressure mapping of sitting.
