Working on the PanelSAR project; Design and development of a small satellite SAR payload. ▪ Microwave engineering ▪ RF front-end design ▪ Radar instrument design ▪ System performance evaluation ▪ Antenna performance simulation ▪ Prototype specification ▪ Drafting requirement documents for an slotted wave guide antenna ▪ Drafting requirement specifications for the transmit and receive module ▪ Responsible for TRM detailed design description ▪ Selecting various components to be used in the satellite (hardware) for prototype ▪ Selecting flight model electronics ▪ Negotiating with suppliers
▪ Microwave engineering: participating in designing the front-end of a nanosatellite-based radar system to monitor ice movement in the Arctic (antenna feeding network design, low noise amplifier design, antenna design, signal handling until digitizing, including mixing of the signals) ▪ PCB design ▪ Debugging and reviewing designs ▪ Electromagnetic simulations of designs, verification of circuits in AWR and RF structures in CST ▪ Preparing a thermal vacuum chamber, designing and manufacturing a custom-made chamber to simulate the hostile environment in space ▪ Preparing and supervising the environmental tests. ▪ Manufacturing prototypes ▪ Wire bonding prototypes ▪ Measuring prototypes of circuits using spectrum / network analysers ▪ Measuring the far field of the antennas in an anagogic chamber ▪ Global design of a complex system, designing a lightweight satellite to perform SAR in the Arctic region ▪ Selecting various components to be used in the satellite (hardware): downlink sub-system including ground station network subsystem , amplifiers, mixers, FPGAs, microcontrollers ▪ Negotiating with suppliers
