Maarten van Beek (MA, MSc) is HR Director for ING Retail Banking (Australia, Belgium&Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Romenia, Poland and Turkey) and part of the Retail Management Team. In his role Maarten focusses on developing, and acquiring digital talent with outstanding banking knowledge and skills for Private Individuals, Business Banking and Private Banking & Wealth Management. Maarten holds a Master of Arts in Organisational Psychology from Leiden University and a Master of Science in Human Resource Development from Twente University. Maarten spend part of his Master at Cornell University, Ithaca NY. Maarten has a passion for HR and did HR generalist and expert roles in FMCG, Financial Services and MedTech. He lived and work in Brazil, United Kingkdom, China, Singapore, the US, Geneva, The Netherlands and Sweden. Maarten serves at the supervisory boards the of the Dutch Public Television and Radio (NPO), Dutch Association of Employers (AWVN), The Hague Enviroment Services (HMS), the Dutch School for Public Service (NSOB) and is Chairman of the board of UAF. He served in the Board of the Leiden University Fund, responsible for Alumni of Leiden University; the supervisory board of Cordaid (active in fragile countries), in the Board of a young Theater group called Annette Speelt and the Kessler Foundation which takes care of the homeless people. From 2005 to 2007 Maarten was Director in the Board of the International Leadership Association in Washington DC. Maarten is author of HR Impact, the power of craftmanship (>25 days in the Managementbook top 100). Maarten lives in The Hague, the Netherlands. Maarten was born in the South of the Netherlands in Geleen. Next to reading, traveling, and collecting contemporary art he enjoys good meals and great wines.
