Mohammed Khalil Ibrahim Asander is a Jordan-based independent mechanical architect focused on rethinking how internal combustion engines convert force into usable work. With decades of hands-on mechanical experience across heavy-duty and industrial systems, his work combines practical engineering knowledge with original mechanical architecture development. His approach examines where energy is lost within conventional engines — friction, lateral side thrust, and structural stress — and explores alternative geometries that reduce these losses at the source. Working independently and without institutional backing, he designed, built, assembled, and successfully operated a self-developed internal combustion engine architecture. This achievement was documented by official Jordanian media and national television. His development work includes several clean-sheet engine architectures such as opposed-piston systems and alternative motion-conversion mechanisms. These designs are protected through patent filings, including: • US20090038565A1 • WO2024038292 His engineering focus includes: • Balanced force transmission • Reduction of lateral side thrust • Friction and parasitic loss minimization • Mechanical symmetry and load distribution • Low part count for durability and manufacturability These architectures are intended for scalable industrial applications across automotive, heavy-duty, marine, and defense sectors, with multi-fuel adaptability including diesel, methane, and hydrogen. He is currently seeking industrial collaboration to transition these protected mechanical architectures into instrumented prototypes and measurable performance validation.
Founding member and Vice President of an initiative aimed at bringing together independent inventors in Jordan and encouraging practical engineering innovation. The association was established by a small group of inventors to promote collaboration, increase the visibility of locally developed technologies, and explore opportunities for institutional and industrial engagement. In parallel, as an independent mechanical inventor and founder of Asender Smart Engines, I have spent more than five decades developing clean-sheet internal combustion engine architectures focused on efficiency, mechanical simplicity, and manufacturability.
