About

Life should be interesting and fulfilling! I started my working career at the young age of 16 working for my mom at her business, a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Assisted Living center. Helping people with their daily living skills and soaking up the wisdom of the elderly is something I would recommend for every teenager. In college I started working in hotels. I studied by day and provided hospitality by night, and I absolutely loved it! After college, I moved to Phoenix where I graduated from the Carlson Travel Academy as a certified travel advisor. I continued to work for hotels in any department they needed me. When I met my husband, a veterinarian, he was already itching to open his own business and wanted me to help him. So, we opened and ran our own very successful animal hospital for 25 years until we sold and made a dream a reality by relocating to Colorado. My main focus in our business was to bring my hospitality level client service to a veterinary clientele. Providing that level of service was unusual for the industry, and it was something I took great pride in. It was greatly appreciated by our clients, leading to stronger than average client referrals to our practice and to our rapid growth. We had far less client attrition as well as staff turnover than the average veterinary practice. While I absolutely loved working in animal health, after we sold our practice, I wasn't finding a place for myself in the industry where it truly felt like my own. And I was immediately drawn to my original two passions: languages and hospitality. I have always loved the Spanish language and immediately returned to my study and practice of it. Ever since I did a student exchange program in Mexico, in college, I have had an interest in teaching English as a Second Language to Spanish speakers. And I still love absolutely everything about hotels and want to use my experience working in almost every department. My goal is to get certified as an TEFL/TESOL teacher and then begin helping hotel employees improve their English in the Denver area as well as abroad and online!
