Not about us, without us. The mission of the Ann Arbor CIL is to provide hope, offer support, and transform lives with dedication to the success of children, youth, adults, and seniors with disabilities at home, at school, at work and in the community. Since 1976, we have assisted people with disabilities in overcoming barriers and meeting their goals in areas including: Assistance Accessing Community Resources, Career Services, Community Advocacy, Disability-Related Training for Businesses & Organizations, Independent Living Coaching, Peer Support, Small Business Development Assistance, Recreation & Arts Programming, Transitions from Nursing Facilities back into the Community, and Youth Programming. In addition to our Ann Arbor office we have an affiliate location, the Monroe Center for Independent Living, in neighboring Monroe County. We also have a staffing presence in Livingston County. I have been privileged to work with this organization in several areas including Career Services, Advocacy, and Leadership Development over the years. In 2017 I joined the current Board of Directors to support strategic planning during a time of organizational change and growth at the Center. We are now bringing that plan to fruition with some amazing staff members!
At Bloom Roofing, we believe that our customer base is best served in the long run with a roofing contractor who is focused on quality. Since 1979, we have stood above other commercial roofing companies due to our commitment to skilled workmanship, fair business practices, superior customer service, professional project management and a meticulous attention to detail. My role as part of the production team was an excellent opportunity to build on existing skills in the Roofing and Construction industry. This job involved purchasing of materials and equipment for the installation of low slope commercial and heavy industrial roofing projects. I also managed the rental of heavy equipment, scheduling of sub-contractors, and job setup and breakdown. Materials planning and project scheduling made up a large part of the role. Management of supplier relationships is key and I had the opportunity to work with some amazing vendors and subcontractors to get the job done!
