Young but experienced educator and leader dedicated to a career in creating the best future possible for all children, regardless of their social, economic, or developmental boundaries. "All children are born with the same, unique potential, but all children are not afforded the opportunities and resources to achieve their potential." Unfortunately, this quote is all too real in our world today and has inspired the goals I have created for my professional career. I am a graduate of San Diego State University and the Weber Honors College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development and minors in Interdisciplinary Studies and History, and a graduate of Loyola Marymount University's MA in Urban Education program, with a focus in Educational Policy and Administration. I have a passion for giving back to my community, especially to the children of my community, and love scaffolding the positive development of our future generations. I have experience working with children of all different backgrounds, with all different learning levels, as well as experience planning and running professional and extracurricular events, which has strengthened my preparation and communication skills. I plan to use these skills to help transform the education world, for every child deserves the best education possible so they, in turn, can reach their potential and do their part in creating a better tomorrow. My top 5 strengths, according to Gallup StrengthFinders Assessment, are Learner, Developer, Restorative, Achiever, and Includer.

Received and accepted an early admission offer to become a corps member and teacher through Teach For America in the Capital Valley Region, specifically in Stockton, California. As a corps member, I am both a teacher and student. During my first year, I taught 8th Grade at Montezuma Elementary School (MES) in Stockton Unified School District while in school to receive my multiple-subject teaching credential from Loyola Marymount University (LMU). During my second year, I am teaching 7th Grade at MES while in school to receive my MA in Urban Education, with a concentration in Educational Policy and Administration, from LMU.
Led the first-ever Teen Camp for the Sacramento Central YMCA, which involved building the summer program from scratch. My responsiblities included, but were not limited to, hiring, training, overseeing, evaluating and motivating 4 camp counselors and 1 assistant director, planning and implementing curriculum and extra-curricular activities for 28 youths 10 to 13 years of age, engaging directly with parents through email, over the phone, and in-person as the direct point of contact, overseeing the camp’s funds, and retrieving payments for the camp from parents each week. Being the first summer the camp was ever held, I was also responsible for keeping details records of the summer so that future leaders would have a solid foundation to build off of.
