I am a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Air Force, serving within the People Operations Profession as a Human Resources specialist and People Leader. During my Service career I have completed selection for all three of the Armed Forces, including serving with the 1st Btn Welsh Guards as a rifleman, anti-tank missile-man (MILAN Platoon) and successfully completing selection for P-Company (Parachutist training) at ITC Catterick. In addition I have completed the RNAC and PEDA for the Royal Navy (RN) and deployed with the RN during OP ISOTROPE. I have also served in the logistics field within the Royal Air Force for 6 years, and deployed to Afghanistan as a detainee handler before commissioning as a Royal Air Force Officer in the People Operations Profession. I have deployed on operational tours and exercises all over the World during my time serving in His Majesty's Armed Forces. Outside of my professional role: Professional sport. - I am a Licensed British Board of Boxing Control (BBBoC) professional boxing trainer & second. I have trained professional boxers at Welsh, Celtic, British & Commonwealth title level in televised bouts. - BKB trainer and second in televised bouts. Amateur Sport: MMA Cymru - Team manager and cornerman - European & World Championships. Boxing - I hold the WABA full trainers licence and I am a qualified referee and judge (R&J) for amateur boxing in Wales. GAA - I am a Level 1 Gaelic Amateur Association (GAA) qualified football coach - Pride of Erin - Newport GAA. Head Coach of SMOA Professional Boxing Team. I led the team for professional boxer Craig Woodruff, under my tutelage he rose from 86 to number 4 in the United Kingdom rankings and to 40 in the World boxing rankings. In this time he has fought for the Super Lightweight - Welsh title, a Lightweight Celtic title, a British lightweight eliminator and ultimately fought for the British lightweight title twice. Team SMOA's initial goals was to secure a challenge for the coveted Lonsdale Belt by winning a British eliminator. The team achieved this goal when Craig won the British eliminator and with it the BBBoC Celtic Lightweight title against Ronnie Clark. Craig faced Gavin Gwynne for the 'British & Commonwealth lightweight titles' on TV both on Channel 5 and DAZN TV platforms. They topped the bill on Channel 5. The bout was declared a draw and Craig put in a career best performance. A rematch was ordered and Gwynne v Woodruff 2 was announced to compete at the CIA Cardiff in a sold out area a and on the 📺 platform DAZN. Lead D&I Adviser for 83 EAG providing policy direction, advice and guidance to EAW Cdrs and their staffs across the Group. J8 responsibilities including the provision of D&G to all SP with a fin delegation from the DACC, fin plan mgmt and reporting to Air A8/J8 BME. Lead and mentor WO/JNCO A1 and PTI within HQ, and all A1 pers within the Gp to ensure a consistent approach is taken to A1/7 delivery in the JOA. SME advice and oversight of welfare provision and funding associated with the DWP and other PJHQ, RAF and charitable funding sources (incl T&Cs).
Sqn Ldr - SD&PS A Sqn: Oversee the Stn’s higher-level welfare, disciplinary and administrative processes, including providing guidance and making recommendations on COAs D&I Lead, supporting a D&I network to aid the Stn Cdr develop a culture free from bullying, harassment, discrimination, inappropriate behaviours. Ensure Service Complaints are dealt with at the lowest appropriate level and every effort made to resolve complaints informally. Conduct regular checks of disciplinary and administrative casework registers to ensure casework is being progressed iaw prescribed timelines. Provide oversight of all Administrative and Disciplinary Casework on Stn including Service Complaints, MAA, MAAPs, Summary Hearings, Courts Martials. Provide oversight of all Personal Support casework on Stn, Chair the SPSC and provide Stn personnel and families with advice iaw AP 7005 and AP 9012. Mentor and Educate CoC and LMs with regards to Service Discipline, Personal and Community Support processes. Sqn Ldr: I assumed all responsibilities of the SO2 J1 Policy role including: CO Army Minor Units (AMU). Personnel Records Office (PRO) - Army Personnel Casework (APC) for the RG. DirOB - J1 Policy Staff Officer. SO2 Welfare - UHC/ Carer's Forum/ Safeguarding Lead. Flt Lt: BF-GIB J1 Pol - sS Staff Officer, Welfare and Community Support Lead. Lead Diversity & Inclusion advisor D&I(A) for all military personnel located in Gibraltar. In order to provide cohesion in a Joint environment, I have delivered Op Inclusion training to 1000+ personnel and implemented a BF-GIB Climate Assessment. In addition I have staffed a HQBF-GIB D&I Aide memoire and Action Plan for Gibraltar. In addition I have staffed a finance paper for the Chief of Staff (COS OF5), on all funding streams available to Service personnel and their families located across BF-GIB. I oversee all Community Development Manager (CDM) business and have recently staffed the Community Needs Analysis (CNA) for BF-GIB.
Team Manager for the Welsh MMA Team (MMA Cymru) competing in Al Ain, UAE 🇦🇪. In addition to this I provided SME advice in striking. I also acted as a cornerman in bouts during the IMMAF World Championships. The team won the highest medal haul in Welsh youth MMA history.
