Recent Applied Theology, and Missional Leadership graduate putting my training into practice in a small, local church context. I am lead pastor of a church of around 100 people, in a town of around 1000. I am the main preacher and teacher of the church, serve on our leadership board helping establish the vision and goals of the church, provide spiritual and pastoral oversight to our church and community, and seek ways to establish greater links with the local community. I have previously worked in Christian retail, working as both an employee of what was at the time the UK’s largest chain of Christian bookshops prior to its collapse, and afterwards, opening an independent Christian bookshop in its place, and serving as one of its directors and managers. I have also served for 3 years in Cristian mission and outreach work with LifeFORCE Teams International, part of United Youth Outreach. I was a team member on their western Canadian missions trams for 2 years, using drama, multimedia, spoken word, practical help, and other forms of ministry to proclaim the gospel to young people across the country, and support them in growing and developing their faith. I then helped lead a team to the UK and Malta, working delivering a similar program in these countries, with a particular focus on Drugs and Alcohol Awareness in Malta, with our trip being in collaboration with Aġenzija Sedqa part of the Maltese National Government’s Foundation for Social Welfare Services.
As lead pastor of House of Hope (formerly known as Hudson’s Hope Bible Fellowship) my role is defined primarily by scripture. I am called to serve God’s people through preaching and teaching the scriptures, encouraging the body in faithful service, helping people grow in their faith, prayer and pastoral support, and through proclaiming the good news of Jesus. I also provide strategic leadership to our board, help establish a unique vision and call for our church in community, represent our church family at community events, officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms and other lifecycle events, provide counselling and pastoral visitation, and serve as first point of contact for our church.
I am a recent graduate from Moorlands College, with a First Class BA (Hons), in Applied Theology, with a focus on Missional Leadership. I am currently supporting the ministry of Aldridge Parish, working to oversee our online and technological ministries, and maintaining our office network and systems.
Alongside my BA Degree with Moorlands College, I served on a three-year placement at St. Thomas Church, Aldridge. During this time, I worked in all areas of Church Ministry, experiencing every element of church life and outreach.
During this time, I was an owner/director of The Hub Christian Resource Centre, helping to found, set up, run and manage this shop alongside my other director and staff members. The Hub was a Christian bookshop, and high-street missions centre, including a small coffee shop, and meeting space, Rendezvous at The Hub.
