- Initiation and technical lead of an Innosuisse project to develop a non-invasive medical device to support bladder emptying in urinary retention patients - Development of the medical device (mechatronic system) for use in a clinical trial - HW-development, mechanical design, prototyping, technical documentation - Risk management (ISO 14971), in-house & external verification (IEC 60601-1/-2) - Clinical study design, coordination & execution of first-in-man clinical trial - Swissmedic and ethics submissions - Scientific lead, development of an in-vitro platform modeling the lower urinary tract - Supervision of 3 MSc projects - Business related tasks for the resulting spin-off URODEA

Project in the field of leadless cardiac multisite pacemakers. - Characterization and implementation of wireless low-power intra-body communication in the heart - Development of wireless transceivers and pacemaker prototypes - HW-development (analog/digital), embedded systems - Performance of characterization- and verification measurements including impedance spectroscopy in vitro and in vivo in the heart - Multiphysics FEM simulations, biosignal analysis - Supervision of 8 MSc and BSc projects
Research in the field of energy harvesting for cardiac pacemakers. - Development, prototyping and characterization of micro-mechanic electrical generators (micro-technology) - Development of wearable solar cell measurement devices - HW-development, microcontroller programming - Execution of a long-term study on the energy output of subcutaneously implanted solar cells, involving 30 subjects
