About

I build and scale projects at the intersection of sport, education and social impact. Over the past years, I have led the development of Kenya’s first high-performance residential football academy, managing everything from concept development, fundraising and construction to operations, governance and stakeholder management. My experience spans project management, organizational development, sports operations, product ownership and executive support roles across the sports, technology and non-profit sectors. At ACAKORO School and Academy, I oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for education, boarding, football development, infrastructure, finance and community engagement. I am particularly interested in complex projects that combine strategy with execution and require alignment between diverse stakeholders, cultures and objectives. Whether managing large-scale construction projects in rural Kenya, coordinating international sports initiatives, or developing operational structures for growing organizations, I enjoy turning ambitious ideas into practical systems that deliver measurable outcomes. My academic background includes degrees in Sports Science and Project Management, complemented by ongoing doctoral research on sports boarding schools and talent management in emerging markets. Key areas of expertise: • Project & Program Management • Operations & Organizational Development • Sports Management & Athlete Development • Stakeholder & Partner Management • Education & Boarding School Operations • Product Ownership & Digital Transformation • Strategic Planning & Process Improvement • International Development & Social Impact Always interested in conversations around project leadership, sports ecosystems, talent development, education and organizational growth.

Experience

  • Head of Operations & Sports at ACAKORO Academy
    Apr 2021 - Present · 5 yrs 3 mos

Over the past five years, I have led the development of the Acakoro Football Academy in Nairobi, building one of the most structured youth athlete development systems in East Africa from the ground up. A key milestone was the planning and construction of the Acakoro School – the first professional football boarding school in East Africa – creating a fully integrated high-performance environment combining elite training, formal education, and holistic athlete support. Alongside this, I established and managed comprehensive athlete development structures, working closely with athletes, coaches, families, and international partners. I developed clear pathways from grassroots to elite level and built strong relationships across federations, government institutions, and global stakeholders. Key achievements include developing over 150 young athletes, facilitating player progression into top environments in Europe and Kenyan professional football, and creating a trusted, high-retention athlete ecosystem. I also implemented robust systems around athlete welfare, integrity, and long-term development. My work has focused on building sustainable structures that enable talent from underserved communities to reach their full potential - both on and off the field.

    Jan 2024 - May 2024 · 5 mos

As an implementing partner the team from Acakoro organized the first edition of the Europe Day Kenya tournament. 64 Teams from four counties representing the diversity of Kenya (Nairobi, Marsabit, Homa Bay & Kilifi) competed for the national title. We have shared our knowledge and expertise with the Delegation of The European Union to Kenya, the respective County governments and the German Embassy to Kenya. Our team was responsible for the conceptualization, logistics and execution of the tournament that has reached over 1.400 participants. A crucial part was stakeholder and expectation management, since our client (the EU) has a big reputation and political stakeholders have to be included. The preliminary tournaments were graced by the governors of the respective county, while the national final was attended by multiple EU member state ambassadors incl. of the Head of Delegation H.E. Henriette Geiger. Chief guest was the CS for Defence of the Republic of Kenya Hon. Aden Duale. Through agile and flexible planning our team managed to guarantee a satisfying outcome and created everlasting memories for the participating teams, especially the ones traveling hundreds of kilometers to the national final.
