Physician-scientist and allergologist/immunologist with expertise in drug hypersensitivity reactions, chronic urticaria, mast cell disorders, insect venom allergy and translational allergy research. Since 2022, I have been serving as Head of the Division of Allergology and Clinical Immunology at Inselspital Bern, one of Switzerland’s leading university hospitals. Since joining Inselspital Bern in 2012, I have been involved in tertiary referral care for complex allergic and immunological diseases, combining specialized clinical practice with translational and investigator-initiated research. My academic work focuses particularly on severe delayed drug hypersensitivity reactions, including drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), with the aim of improving mechanistic understanding, diagnostic precision and patient safety in immune-mediated drug reactions. My professional activities further include undergraduate and postgraduate medical education at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Bern as well as national specialist training in allergology and clinical immunology in Switzerland. I currently serve on the Clinical Commission and the Exam Subcommission of the Swiss Society of Allergology and Immunology (SSAI/SGAI) and actively contribute to international collaborations through the Drug Allergy Interest Group and European Network on Drug Allergy (ENDA) and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).
