About

Energy companies must evolve towards a long-term sustainable model and be part of the solution to climate change, while they drive progress by supplying secure and affordable energy. Innovation and technology are the means by which a goal can be met: Accelerating the energy transition towards zero emissions. As the Executive Managing Director of Energy Transition, Technology, Institutional Affairs & Deputy CEO at Repsol, I focus on technology, social responsibility and better regulation as keys to overcome the challenges the energy sector and society are facing. Since 1984, I’ve been working at this company, first as a process engineer and later on in the Refining, Corporate, and Upstream areas. Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering from Complutense University of Madrid. I’m also Chairman of Fuels Europe and Concawe, and I was also Chairman of the Automotive Fuels Action Group of the European Petroleum Industry Association, Chairman of the European Biofuels Technology Platform, and member of the European Research Advisory Board.
