I studied mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin, with a master degree in tranport engineering. Due to my passion in mountains and ropeways, I decided to start an internship at an engineering company specialized in wire rope transport systems. During this period I developed my master thesis on an innovative ropeway clamping device for which I got nominated as co-inventor. Across my academic career, along with an international experience studying a semester in US, I worked for two years as part-time assistant at the Department of Environment, Land and Transport Engineering of the University. After my master degree, I started working as a manufacturing manager assistant for an international company specialized in the production of steel wire ropes. During that period I also obtained the engineering professional practice license in Italy. Working in direct contact with production was very interesting for me as a practical person, but based on maintenance and CAPEX management experiences, I decided to look for a new challenge in project engineering and project management. My interest in transportation systems and big steel structures brought me first to Intamin Transportation and then to Intamin Amusement Rides. Due to the dimension of the projects I worked for, with several design reviews and high standard requirements, I learnt project management skills by doing, especially thanks to the support of my colleagues and supervisors. During the production and commissioning phases of the projects, I've been involved in suppliers’ assessments and direct on-site support/work. Those have played a big role in the success of the projects and helped growing my experience in project management, with a focus on both theoretical and practical aspects of an engineering job.
