By pursuing a BCom/LLB with Economics and Finance as my Commerce majors, I am preparing for the workplace, deepening my understanding of business and society, and applying my existing academic skills. I am passionate about language learning and international collaboration, which I develop through my Certificate in Languages, specialising in German, at UoA. I am curious and driven to succeed in all I undertake, having recently won the Open Division of the Baker Tilly Case Competition and completed the IEL Development Programme to join the UoA Case Programme. I achieved Dux at my school and maintain strong academic achievement. I have strong collaborative skills from interning at Parkable and working with various stakeholders at Auckland Schools’ Debating. My work with B416 showcases my professional communication, having presented at Parliament and spoken as a panelist.
I work cross-functionally to support Parkable's international growth. Some key tasks to date are that I wrote the business case for AI-powered enterprise search, analysed revenue trends, conducted market research, wrote marketing materials and ensured leave policies meet international regulations. I have gained an understanding of how the different functions interact and how our approaches to scaling differ across markets.
I ensure the organisation runs smoothly by rostering adjudicators, managing invoices and payments, and tracking competition entries. I provide administrative support to other committee members and coordinate with schools.
I convened the Senior Open grade with ~90 teams across 5 geographical zones. I regularly communicated with teachers to ensure senior students could develop their debating skills and engage with topical issues. I adjudicated debates, making sure to provide sensible feedback and maintain a positive environment.
I work in a team of 4 to present strategies for various businesses in limited time. We then present for 10 minutes and defend our strategies in a further 10 minutes of questions from judges. A key component of the programme is adapting to others' personal working styles and offering and implementing feedback with teammates.
