About

Global Head of Sales (ESS) | Executive Leader in Grid-Scale BESS, Data Centres & High-Voltage Infrastructure I am a senior commercial executive and Global Head of Sales for Energy Storage Solutions, focused on commercialising, scaling, and investing in grid-scale energy infrastructure across battery energy storage, high-voltage systems, and data-centre-ready power solutions. We work alongside customers as a flexible build-and-transfer asset partner, selectively participating as a majority or minority equity holder to accelerate delivery, de-risk execution, and maximise whole-of-life asset value, where it makes sense. My work sits at the intersection of sales leadership, engineering, market design, and global capital deployment, translating complex infrastructure into bankable, system-critical assets. Market-Defining Energy Storage - Delivering short-duration, long-duration (LDES), and ultra-long-duration (ULDES) battery storage to enable renewable integration, grid resilience, and hyperscale data-centre growth. Commercial & Operational Enablement - Enabling performance and execution certainty through advanced market-optimisation platforms, bidding analytics, and grid-control architectures (EMS / PPC). Executive & Commercial Background My career combines senior corporate leadership with hands-on entrepreneurial execution. I have led material commercial growth, market entry, and portfolio expansion for global energy organisations, including Energy Vault, Fluence, Schneider Electric, EnergyAustralia, Origin Energy, and Yingli Green Energy. Earlier in my career, I was a multi-unit franchisee within the Harvey Norman Group, where I developed deep capability in P&L ownership, capital allocation, and team leadership—experience that continues to inform my approach to risk, scale, and commercial decision-making. The highlight was receiving the "Gold" Franchisee Award at the inaugural Global Electrical Franchisee Conference in 2009. Education & Industry Contribution Global Executive MBA (GEMBA), Monash University - I completed the Global program in strategic leadership and digital transformation, with intensive modules at INSEAD (Fontainebleau), CEIBS (Shanghai), and NYU Stern (New York). Industry Leadership - I am a Former Board Member of the Australian Solar Council and the Energy Storage Council (now the Smart Energy Council), contributing to policy and market design during pivotal periods of Renewable Energy Target (RET) reform.

In my current role as Global Head of Sales (Energy Storage Solutions), I lead Energy Vault’s worldwide commercial sales teams across grid-scale energy storage, long-duration storage, high-voltage infrastructure, critical power, and data-centre energy systems. My focus is on positioning Energy Vault as a long-term infrastructure and asset partner, supporting the global energy transition while enabling resilient, dispatchable power for utilities, hyperscale data centres, and critical industries. Key Global Mandates: - Lead global sales strategy across BESS, LDES, and integrated critical-power solutions - Support customers with flexible delivery and participation models, including long-term asset partnerships - Align technology, execution, and commercial outcomes across regions and markets - Support grid reliability, renewable firming, and data-centre load growth at scale Representative Global Project – Calistoga Calistoga Resiliency Center (California, USA) - This is a landmark long-duration energy storage project designed to provide resilient, islandable power to a wildfire-prone community. The project demonstrates how storage, grid controls, and HV infrastructure can replace traditional thermal generation while delivering reliability, safety, and emissions reduction. Calistoga is emblematic of Energy Vault’s global value proposition: storage as critical infrastructure, capable of supporting communities, grids, and data centres under increasingly extreme operating conditions. What We Enable Globally - Firming and optimisation of renewable-heavy grids - Long-duration resilience for communities and critical facilities - HV and substation-integrated storage solutions - Data-centre-ready energy systems aligned with sustainability and uptime requirements

A core part of this role has been partnering with customers as a flexible IPP and true capital-aligned participant. We selectively invest alongside developers and asset owners—as a majority or minority participant—bringing genuine skin in the game to accelerate delivery, reduce execution risk, and support long-term value creation. Selected Asset Outcomes Stoney Creek BESS (NSW) – 125 MW / 1,000 MWh (8-hour) LTESA-awarded long-duration project under the NSW Government program, demonstrating a scalable model for utility-grade LDES delivery with aligned ownership and long-term operational commitment. EBOR BESS (NSW) – 100 MW / 870 MWh (8-hour) Second LTESA-awarded long-duration asset, reinforcing the bankability of 8-hour storage and validating Energy Vault’s approach as a committed asset partner rather than a transactional supplier. Across these projects, my focus has been on flexible participation models, disciplined execution, and long-term stewardship of critical grid infrastructure, rather than short-term capital rotation.

Energy Vault is redefining the energy transition by delivering a comprehensive suite of energy storage technologies—from short-duration BESS to long-duration and ultra-long-duration energy storage (LDES). The company provides both infrastructure and software platforms to help utilities, IPPs, and industrial customers manage volatility, firm renewables, and strengthen grid resilience. My Role & Impact As the first Energy Vault employee in Australia, I led the company’s market entry, growth, and commercial positioning across Asia Pacific, establishing Energy Vault as a credible, bankable partner for large-scale storage infrastructure. I built regional sales capability, developer and utility relationships, and delivery pathways across standalone BESS, hybrid solar-plus-storage, and REZ-aligned assets—supporting projects from early development through to contract award and execution readiness. Technology Portfolio Vault OS™ – Hardware-agnostic Energy Management System (EMS) and optimisation platform enabling high-performance market participation and long-term asset control B-VAULT™ – Utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems engineered for reliability, high cycling, and grid-critical applications Selected Project Portfolio Stoney Creek BESS (NSW) – 125 MW / 1,000 MWh (8-hour) LTESA-awarded long-duration storage project under the NSW Government program, establishing a bankable model for 8-hour grid-scale storage.
