Organised by the Amgen Foundation in collaboration with Harvard University, the Amgen Scholars Program is a highly selective (~ 3% acceptance rate), fully funded research fellowship for undergraduate student in biomedical and biotechnology fields. - Independent research in neuroengineering at the Institute of Neuroinformatics (ETH Zurich and University of Zurich), in the Neuromorphic Cognitive System Group. - The project focused on emulating the peripheral somatosensory pathway on a neuromorphic chip in order to encode mechanoreceptor spike trains into compact and meaningful tactile signals. The resulting low-dimensional spiking outputs were designed with the intention of serving as non-invasive stimulation patterns for sensory feedback restoration applications. - The results were presented as a scientific poster at the Amgen Scholars European Symposium in Cambridge in September 2025.
