I’m a builder – of both technology and teams. I’ve spent my career building software, disrupting industries, and surrounding myself with high-performing teams. I started my career in consulting, helping large corporations and local governments as well as various startups improve the way they use technology. This work ultimately culminated in co-leading the creation of Spring Batch, the first and only open source batch processing framework, which is part of the celebrated Spring portfolio. From consulting, I moved into the startup world and helped found Fundspire, a web-based investment platform built from the ground up to enable real-time risk analysis, portfolio construction, and more. Our product helped shape the next generation of hedge fund investing, culminating in a successful acquisition. Fundspire’s success led me to co-found Rippleshot, an award-winning credit card fraud detection platform that monitors millions of transactions daily to detect data breaches faster and more efficiently than any tool on the market. Most recently, I saw a need to revamp the home insurance space, from the way customers engage with the product to the way data is collected and used to how technology could make every step along the way better. At Kin, we believe in tackling challenges head first. Disrupting a century-old industry isn’t easy, but we believe in what we’re doing: building a better home insurance company. We value transparency, celebrate successes, and we aren’t afraid to take risks and think big.
