I’m a scientist-turned-biotech entrepreneur, now working at the intersection of science and strategy as a Business Development Manager at Daewoong Pharmaceutical, one of Korea’s leading pharma companies. I specialize in licensing early-stage assets (Licensing-in and Licensing-out) across oncology, immunology, and neurology, focusing on programs with the potential to become meaningful therapeutic options for patients. My work centers on identifying innovation, assessing its scientific and commercial viability, and shaping partnerships that accelerate drug development. My background spans the full biotech lifecycle. I earned my Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology with a focus on cancer metabolism, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in immunometabolism. After more than a decade in academic research, I transitioned into industry - leading biotech startups as Head of Research and CEO. I’ve been involved across discovery, development, manufacturing, regulatory affairs, IP strategy, and contract negotiation, gaining a holistic view of how new therapies move from concept to clinic. This breadth of experience enables me to operate as a strong interface across functions - someone who connects science with business, and who collaborates effectively with researchers, clinicians, legal teams, and global pharma partners. At Daewoong, my role goes beyond presenting internal science to external companies. I work closely with R&D to anticipate what patients, healthcare providers, and pharma partners truly need - and translate those needs into strategic licensing opportunities. Ultimately, my goal is to bridge innovation with impact, ensuring that breakthrough science becomes real medicines that improve patients’ lives.
