- Interfacing with NASA, in-situ at Houston/Johnson Space Center, in the domain of ESM Mission Integration (development of ESM operational functions, mission analysis, sequencing and utilization) and Performance (stressing performance identification, nominal and contingencies design case development assumptions and analyses). - Providing technical expertise in the areas of ESM / Orion integrated Operations & System Performance. - Coordinating with NASA and managing the Orion-ESM flight operations engineering support, including training and post-flight activities. - Member of the international flight operations team, spacecraft console, at Houston for the Artemis flights. - Supporting the development and maintenance of the Orion-ESM bilateral technical baseline and of the establishment of the industrial technical baseline.

- Avionics specialist for the MPCV-ESM project (managing the specification, design, qualification and procurement of some of the avionics units and the related electrical ground support equipment) - Providing specialist technical support to space mission development in the domain of on-board computers (micro-processors and micro-controllers, FPGAs, communication interfaces)
- Providing specialist support to projects in the domain of micro-processor architecture, FPGAs, and system-level modeling - Project Management and active engineering support to R&D/Technology development contracts with European Space Industry * Implementation/optimization of VHDL IP-Cores as building blocks for OBDH system architectures (e.g Time-Triggered ethernet controller, CCSDS Image Compression, CCSDS File Delivery Protocol, SpaceWire, CAN, Telemetry/Telecommand encoder/decoder, etc.); * Implementation and Optimization of Hardware/Software co-design tools; * Investigation and design of next generation space microcontrollers and microprocessors ASICs, including the use of multi-core (e.g. NGMP) and microthreading technologies; involvement in the development of related software tools. * Development of a Virtual Platform for design space exploration of hardware systems and for preliminary software development; * Development of SystemC models of hardware blocks commonly used in Avionic Systems (LEON processor, AMBA AHB and APB, SpaceWire and CAN interfaces, etc.); * Study of the use of dynamically reconfigurable architectures in space; - Cooperation with the System Software division at the Agency for the design of future Avionic Systems, focusing on the study of software predictability on multi-core processors - Member of the CCSDS Multispectral and Hyperspectral Data Compression Working Group * Creation of the reference implementation (C language) of the lossless compression standard for hyperspectral images. - Technical, administrative and legal management of the ESA SystemC and VHDL IP-Core pool of designs, including optimisation, update, and overall maintenance of such cores; development of new hardware IP-Cores. - Maintaining active contacts with the research community through participation to FP7 EU project (including proposal preparation) and by promoting and supervising ESA sponsored Ph.D. and post-doc programs
