I have a strong interest in semiconductor technologies, Digital IC Design, ASIC/VLSI, and EDA methodologies. My background includes digital design, verification, synthesis, place and route, DFT, timing analysis, physical verification, and sign-off, with additional experience in FPGA design, embedded processors, CMOS standard-cell design, and EDA-based engineering workflows. Alongside my semiconductor background, I enjoy building practical software and AI-driven solutions. My projects include AskElvis, an individual donkey-recognition application; BeepBoop, an LLM-driven interactive robot for real-time Q&A; ILoveTranscript.com, a SaaS transcription platform; and ChineseStudent.com, a community and information platform for Chinese students in the UK. These projects have strengthened my experience in Python, AI/ML, full-stack development, product strategy, and user-focused product development. I enjoy learning new technologies, solving technical problems, and communicating complex engineering ideas clearly through documentation, demonstrations, and project-based work.
In progress... Founded ChineseStudent.com, a community and information platform helping Chinese students in the UK connect with university communities and find useful student resources. • Building a central directory of up-to-date WeChat groups for UK universities, making it easier for new students to find classmates and campus communities. • Designing and developing the website, brand identity, user experience and overall product strategy. • Planning future services covering accommodation, second-hand trading, jobs, local events and practical student-life information. • Managing the project from domain acquisition and initial concept through development, content planning and launch preparation.
Built and launched ILoveTranscript.com, a SaaS-style transcription platform that helps students, creators, researchers, and professionals turn video and audio content into clean, editable transcripts. The platform supports YouTube caption transcription, MP4, MP3, and WAV transcription workflows, transcript editing, timestamp controls, local transcript history, pricing plans, credit purchases, and account authentication. I also built 'Mini Louis', an AI-assisted website chatbot that helps users navigate the platform, understand tools, and find the right transcription workflow. Led the product end to end, including the product concept, branding, UX design, landing page structure, feature planning, pricing model, authentication flow, payment setup, chatbot experience, and overall platform direction. Built and deployed the project using a modern web stack with Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Azure Speech, Cloudflare, and GitHub, with a focus on privacy-first design, scalable architecture, and a smooth user experience. This project strengthened my skills in SaaS product development, full-stack web development, UX planning, authentication, payment integration, AI chatbot integration, cloud deployment, audio/video transcription workflows, and launching a public-facing product from idea to production.
• Represented the University of Southampton at outreach events, open days, and applicant activities • Guided prospective students and families by answering questions about student life, courses, and the campus experience • Delivered mentoring and Q&A sessions to improve applicant engagement and support informed university choices • Assisted with event coordination and visitor support while developing communication, teamwork, and public-facing skills
Recommended by my supervisor after my October 2024 individual animal recognition project, I developed a real-time individual donkey identification app, Ask Elvis for the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. 90% top-3 accuracy was achieved in testing, with clear potential for further improvement through a larger training dataset. Mainly responsible for developing the Android app in Kotlin, including UI integration and real-time recognition functionality, while also assisting with parts of the machine learning pipeline. Further technical details are included in the Projects section.
Represented student perspectives and supporting communication between students and academic staff. Contributed to discussions on student experience, learning and teaching methods, assessment, feedback, academic support, and learning resources.
