MSci Microbiology student at the University of Glasgow, currently on placement as a QC Microbiologist at Veranova, Edinburgh.
Involved in: - Performing Total Aerobic Microbial Count (TAMC) and Total Yeast and Mould Count (TYMC) testing on pharmaceutical products and water samples. - Conducting environmental monitoring within ISO 7 classified production areas. - Sampling and testing a range of water systems using chemical and microbiological methods, including total organic carbon (TOC), endotoxin, conductivity, coliform, and colour analysis - Maintaining a strong focus on cGMP compliance, data integrity, and consistently high standards of aseptic technique - Ensuring strict adherence to Pharmacopeial requirements, internal specifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Student by day, bartender by night.
Learning the recipes of 50+ cocktails is no easy feat. Nor is dealing with intoxicated customers.
This position revealed to me that even the smallest of things (children) can have a monumental impact (a large mess on the floor).
