Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finland
As chief curator of Villa Gyllenberg art museum and historic house, I am dedicated to bringing art and cultural history to life through research, exhibitions, and storytelling. With experience in curating, project management, collections development, writing and editorial work, I aim to make art history inspiring to the public. I hold a PhD in history and art history, with a dissertation on the painter Alexander Lauréus and the visual culture of Early Romanticism, complemented by studies in museum studies, curatorial practice, and leadership. I have a keen interest and experience working with early modern painting and 19th- to early 20th-century European art. Over the years, I have curated and managed numerous exhibitions, developed collections strategies, and led the museum team. In addition to my curatorial work, I serve on the boards of the Pro Artibus Foundation and the Finnish Society of 18th Century Studies.
I manage the museum Villa Gyllenberg and work with exhibitions, collections and research.
Collections and research, exhibitions, visitor services, communication
I curated the exhibit Alexander Lauréus - To Rome.
I classified the iconography of paintings in the museum's collection by using the Iconclass system.
I helped making the exhibition "Altistu taiteelle! Utsätt dig för konsten!" which presented the art collection of Hallwyl Museum, Stockholm. One of my main tasks was to write the exhibition texts.
I attributed, dated and identified the techniques of 100 old master prints in the Hedman Art Collection and catalogued them.
