- Develop and implement the human resources strategy within the organization taking into consideration strategic goals and objectives. - Develop and implement company policies and procedures that help promote a healthy and productive work environment. - Liaise with existing employees and address their requests and grievances to ensure a safe and productive workplace - Guide senior management on compliance-related matters. - Own and drive recruitment, on boarding, talent management and motivation needs of assigned departments ensuring each process meets organization goals. - Lead and coordinate onboarding for new hires, process probationary feedback, and manage employee evaluations and terminations. - Development of the Human Resources Department. - Design compensation and benefits package. - Maintain HR procedures that comply with labour laws and regulations. - Monitor and keep track of HR metrics, for example, turnover rates and cost-per-hire. - Provide overall expertise in HRMIS, Payroll Processing, Records Management and Separation and be the reference point to the HR Department. - Ensure departmental data in the HRMIS relating to records management, leave, payroll, medical and other HR duties are coordinated and executed within expected standards. - Manage succession, staff development and workforce planning as essential activities within the assigned departments. - Ensure effective implementation of performance management processes and systems. - Manage all staff welfare and employee relations matters within the organization and ensure timely and adequate resolution of any issues so as to promote a harmonious working environment. - Management of Staff Training.
- Provide project management, HR analysis and generalist HR support for a diverse region including organizational design input, policy design and team integration activities. - Partner with Country Managers and HODs within the regions to understand the areas of greatest HR needs and develop a plan and resources to support these needs. - Instill a “one team” approach across different countries/borders to ensure HR functions and best practices are shared on a consistent and regular basis through regular meetings and training. - Coordinate regional or HQ-led HR activities across the multiple operational offices. - Partner with HQ HR and the General Counsel Office as needed/required and advise country-based Country Managers on actions needed to comply with legal requirements, such as termination, tax, and leave, among others. - Serve as the “front-line” HR generalist to provide technical HR advice in response to regional staff policy inquiries, requests, basic employee relations issues and exit management - Work and support the Country Managers to ensure HR-related incidents/complaints are allocated and followed up in a timely manner. - Define the overall Lipa Later culture, objectives and success measures. - Lead continued development of organizational culture and staff engagement. - Champion and oversee cultural integration across the organization. - Cultivate an organizational culture that promotes exceptional talent, achievement and high performance whilst maintaining a place of work. - Design and implement employee experience frameworks. - Design approaches to communications which provide an employee voice. - Review management practices and their impact on the employee experience.
- Research, recruit, reference check, onboard, induct and train new company hires according to the needs of department managers and company budget. - Effectively liaise between executive management and employees to maintain and improve company employee relations. - Facilitate and coordinate payroll, company benefits packages and corporate events. -Create and implement policies and best practices procedures both at HQ - Kenya and across the regions - Rwanda, Uganda & Nigeria. - Plan, coordinate, schedule and conduct performance reviews and appraisals together with Department heads. - Handle disciplinary cases and procedures within the organization. - Administrative duties: Leave approval and record-keeping, preparation of contracts, performance feedback letters and HR-related reports.
- Assist in interviewing and onboarding of new employees. - Update internal databases with new employee information, including contact details and employment forms. - Support the HR manager in headhunting for specific candidates, and building a project plan for the closure of open positions. - Manage online recruitment platforms. Post, update and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks.
