I am a dedicated education specialist who is passionate about developing learner solutions based on needs analysis. I create materials that are practical where learners stay engaged: I always look for authentic content from the outside world to bring it into the classroom. Teaching calls to all my passions; it incorporates creativity, problem solving, and people management, and I am happy when I get to communicate with learners from all walk of life and to see them thrive. I am honoured to have received the "Excellence in Teaching Award" from the University of Toronto in 2018 and 2022 from a pool of 700 instructors. • Continue designing educational materials for in-class and eLearning (Canvas) based on learning needs • Conducted tutoring sessions with 50 learners to identify learning gaps and implement remediation strategies • Carried out placement tests, assessments (formative and summative) and evaluations • Provided consulting to other educators on pedagogical strategies
• Delivered a 12-hour workshop for the Regent Park Community on Public Speaking and Speaking with confidence, taking inclusion and diversity principles into account • Developed four curricula utilizing instructional design models, such as Backward Design, for one Academic English course and three Business English courses for newcomers • Conducted needs analysis and research for over 150 learners to better understand needs of learners and designed instruction to address learning gaps • Created curricular deliverables, such as slide decks and training material • Applied adult learning principles to plan and deliver “Train the Trainers” events, such as optimizing learning solutions and career advising

• Developed video tutorials on workshop engagement and accessibility material for staff members • Devised “Five minutes with” YouTube video-series where I interview staff members about their programs (entrepreneurship & mindset, digital literacy, citizenship test, women's circle) • Created a Podcast on the Afghan Community where I interviewed settlement workers and members of the Community (newcomers) to raise awareness of the issues and discover more about the country • Prepared learning resource video materials on healthy and unhealthy relationships where I interview a gender-based violence counsellor to discuss the related issues
