Systems Engineer with a mechanical background. - I enjoy understanding products from the systems level. - I am experienced in management of customer product variants. - I build processes that drive rigor, but limit bureaucracy. Astra, General Atomics, and my other experiences have taught me to always look at challenges from the system perspective and strive to improve processes such that rigor is ingrained in the company culture. I enjoy taking on new responsibilities and learning new skills. Outside of work, I am a traveler, a guitarist and luthier, a lover of nature, and someone who is always open to trying new things.
At Astra, I contribute to the company's effort to improve the reliability of the Launch System and improve company processes, while also leading design of ground launcher subystems. I lead efforts for customer variant management, mass tracking, strongback design, upper stage umbilical design, CAD/PLM tools, requirement management, interface management, and Astra's engineering development process. My goal is always to enforce rigor, but also keep the processes as lightweight as possible.
As a member of the Mechanical Systems Integration Group at GA-ASI, I supported a variety of efforts including new aircraft development, build support, packaging, cable routing, and test instrumentation. The team was in charge of managing the top-level aircraft configuration and ensuring that systems function effectively together with regard to manufacturability, performance, and product-line configuration management.
PROVE Lab is a student-run team at Cal Poly working to build the world's fastest solar car. On the team, I was the project's Lead Mechanical Engineer. I started as a founding member in September 2015 and was involved through my graduation in 2018.
I interned at Acorn, which specializes in product development across a variety of industries. I supported design, prototyping, and testing on a variety of programs, including biomedical devices, consumer products, and industrial equipment.
