Currently a third year college student majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas, accepted into the Fast-Track Master's Program in Biomedical Engineering. Chose to major in Biomedical Engineering to improve health conditions with technology. Desire to keep learning and apply knowledge to real-life situations. Eager to develop engineering skills during undergraduate education.
-Investigating the molecular mechanisms of EWSR1::PATZ1 fusion-driven round cell sarcomas. -Using PCR and cloning techniques to study EWSR1::PATZ1 fusion genes and support ongoing cancer research.
-Assisted in preparing and setting up laboratory equipment and safety materials for weekly experiments. -Guided students in proper lab techniques, safety protocols, and accurate data collection.
-Selected to participate in an immersive, week-long professional development program focused on engineering in the medical device industry. -Acted as lead designer for my team’s SolidWorks component, ensuring accurate fit and function within the final assembly. -Presented the completed project to company engineers, demonstrating functionality, design strategy, and problem-solving approach. -Gained firsthand exposure to Applied Medical’s vertically integrated campus, company culture, and end-to-end product development process.
-Shadowed Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist to gain direct experience into patient evaluations and consultations, gaining practical understanding of how individualized prosthetic care is developed. -Followed the complete prosthetic process, from initial casting and personalized fabrication to the final fitting and technical adjustments required to meet each patient’s unique needs.
-Tennis coach to a couple of beginner girls aged 8 to 10 years old. -Taught the basics of tennis strokes and game play. -Inspired the girls to develop a love for the game. -Organized and executed practice sessions focused on technique refinement. -Helped the girls improve mental toughness over the course of four years.
