On screen reporter originating and following up stories and using good film making skills to deliver compelling on the day news stories at short notice and under extreme pressure. Specialising in reporting criminal trials including using my knowledge of French to follow several murder trials in French courts and turning turgid, weighty NHS reports - due to my background as a medical journalist - into watchable TV.
Television production training to students of Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism, Birmingham City University (then known as UCE - University of Central England) Taught students how to find, film, edit and publish television stories. Also provided voice training and advice on reporting and pieces to camera, interviewing techniqes and what to wear. Many went on to pursue successful careers in television at the BBC and ITV.
