About

I have always loved to learn, so it wasn't a stretch for me to end up immersed in the world of education. I am always looking for needs that aren’t being met or ways to improve an existing procedure or program, both within my career paths and beyond. When my children were young, I started a chapter of Attachment Parenting International (because one didn’t exist in my area) and also became a licensed Kindermusic educator because I was familiar with the research on brain growth and music. At the same time, I taught myself Adobe Flash and web design so I could develop the first hybrid course at the college where I was working. I also proposed and developed a brand new course for my state’s technical college system because I found an unmet need in our curriculum offerings. When I joined my current school, I quickly moved from teacher to coordinator to Director of Technology, where I worked with all of our community stakeholders—teachers, students, parents, board—to design, develop, and implement a computing 1:1 program; I evaluate and update this initiative annually so we maintain a cycle of constant improvement. I love helping others learn, grow, and become more proficient and efficient. I love collaborating and working as a team while I am also a focused, independent worker. I enjoy working with software tools like Storyline 360, Rise 360, Camtasia, Snagit, Vyond, Adobe, Canva, Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, and any others that help me produce high-quality work. I'm seeking new opportunities to partner with you as an instructional designer or eLearning developer. Reach out to me at [email protected]. And of course, check out my work at www.lizmckibben.com.
