Hi, I'm Liz, a senior commercial leader with more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and the Global Franchise Head for Breast Cancer at AstraZeneca, a global, science-led pharmaceutical company focused on Oncology, Rare Disease and BioPharmaceuticals. Over the past 17 years with AstraZeneca, my career has taken me all over the world from Australia to the United Kingdom, China, South Korea and now the United States, where I have led large cross-functional teams to deliver country business goals, and worked across global strategic planning, commercial and market access functions. In 2017, I was honoured to become the first female President to lead our organisation in Australia and New Zealand in over 60 years. In this role, I supported AstraZeneca as part of the COVID-19 taskforce liaising with the Australian government and our manufacturing partner to develop and distribute vaccines across the country. This partnership was a very proud moment for me and my team and a huge learning experience. I am a self-proclaimed adventurer, and living and working in five countries with my family has given me the opportunity to learn about diverse cultures, better understand the complexities of local healthcare systems and appreciate the impact health inequity has on how care is delivered. Those experiences have taught me cancer can affect anyone, anywhere, and I feel grateful my teams' work within AstraZeneca helps contribute to our ambition to eliminate breast cancer as a cause of death, seek equity of care and improve patients’ quality of life. Here on Linkedln, I’ll be talking about the future of breast cancer care, health equity and the patient experience, as well as how we can better recognise, empower and encourage women in science and leadership. I hope you’ll follow this page and share your questions and ideas with me along the way too.
