I am a Year 2 student pursuing Chinese Studies at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), with a strong passion for Chinese language, culture, and youth development. For the past six years, I have been actively teaching in various tuition centres, working closely with children to strengthen their language foundations and confidence. Teaching is not just a job for me — it is a calling. I believe education shapes identity, values, and resilience. I integrate creativity and expressive learning into my teaching approach, making lessons engaging and meaningful. My long-term goal is to contribute to Chinese language education while nurturing the next generation with empathy, discipline, and cultural pride.
Working at Gentle Monster as a Sales Representative has allowed me to operate within a design-forward, luxury retail environment. I engage customers through personalised styling consultations while representing a brand known for innovation and artistic identity. The role has strengthened my persuasion skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to translate brand value into meaningful customer experiences.
As a Wine Assistant at Wine Portal Holding P.L, I assisted customers in selecting wines based on their preferences and occasions, while supporting inventory management and store operations. This role strengthened my communication skills, sales confidence, and knowledge of global wine cultures and classifications.
As a tutor teaching Chinese to a K1 student, my role is vital in setting a strong foundation for the child's language acquisition and development. At this stage, children are highly receptive to learning new languages, and with my guidance, they can develop a love and appreciation for the language that can last a lifetime. Teaching Chinese to young learners requires patience, creativity, and an understanding of their individual needs and learning styles. As a tutor, I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the child's language journey and contribute to their future academic and personal success. I usually teach my students using a series of fun and engaging games as I also believe that younger children absorbs knowledge better through playing. My teaching method has acquired many parent’s likes and my students have also shown extensive improvement.
Teaching is not just a job for me; it is a passion that I have been pursuing for 2 years. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds, and this has enabled me to develop a deep understanding of the unique needs and learning styles of each individual student. While working in Kumon, I managed to learn different teaching methods and understand how different age students learn.
