About

I am a Year 2 student pursuing Chinese Studies at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), with a strong passion for Chinese language, culture, and youth development. For the past six years, I have been actively teaching in various tuition centres, working closely with children to strengthen their language foundations and confidence. Teaching is not just a job for me — it is a calling. I believe education shapes identity, values, and resilience. I integrate creativity and expressive learning into my teaching approach, making lessons engaging and meaningful. My long-term goal is to contribute to Chinese language education while nurturing the next generation with empathy, discipline, and cultural pride.

As a tutor teaching Chinese to a K1 student, my role is vital in setting a strong foundation for the child's language acquisition and development. At this stage, children are highly receptive to learning new languages, and with my guidance, they can develop a love and appreciation for the language that can last a lifetime. Teaching Chinese to young learners requires patience, creativity, and an understanding of their individual needs and learning styles. As a tutor, I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the child's language journey and contribute to their future academic and personal success. I usually teach my students using a series of fun and engaging games as I also believe that younger children absorbs knowledge better through playing.
