This was a short-term assignment for 12 months, focusing on the Olympics and Paralympics Games Paris 2024. It entailed building the strategy for and executing global social media real-time operations across all participating markets around the world. During the Olympic Games, the Real-Time team worked on the spot, from a Newsroom in Paris, to be close to the action and serve as the central contact point for social teams globally. Via continuous social media monitoring, the team was able to jump on trends, to brief the production team and have top social assets live in a matter of hours. The aim of the Newsroom is to streamline all updates, and coordinate with stakeholders such as Legal, PACS, EPICS and the International Olympic Committee.
As a Senior Social Media Manager for the Europe Operating Unit, my duties encompass a broad range of activities within our social media ecosystem. You can find me on the intersection of social media management, PR/Communications and crisis management. I serve as the liaison between social media teams and communication and PR teams across Europe, coordinating strategies and facilitating seamless communication with our community managers and consumer care teams across various European regions. A significant part of my role involves crisis communications; mitigating potential brand impacts through diligent preparation and swift decision-making. Next to that, I’m also involved in several real-time social media marketing projects for music festivals and sports events across the globe (like FIFA World Cup and Olympics).
