Lisa Zhu is a Chinese Canadian actor born in Nanjing, China. She moved to Leeds, England with her parents at the age of 10 and finally settled in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at 14. Lisa has recently graduated from the Acting for Film, Television and the Theatre diploma program at Toronto Film School as a president’s list and honour roll student. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Lisa is a soprano singer and also a nail artist. She has an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, specializing in Political Sciences. Lisa worked many years as an Executive Assistant before deciding to pursue her childhood dream of being an actor. Lisa has appeared in PSAs as well as films and theatres. In the Toronto Film School feature-length film “Nightshades” directed by Jonathan Higgins, she was Shirley and was also “Jess” in the play Seventeen, directed by Catherine McNally & Rosanna Saracino. She was Cunningham and the Juror in the 2022 production of “Judge, Jury, Judas” at the Rick Bennett Theatre which was directed by Rosanna Saracino. Lisa also wrote, directed and was the lead actor in the short film named “Most Cherished Memory”. She also starred as Anna in the short film Failed Chemistry. Lisa was trained by many well-known industry professionals such as Rosanna Saracino, Jonathan Higgins, John Tench, Michael Ayoub, John Beale and Andy Massingham. She looks forward to working in the film industry both in North America and also in Asia.
