About

Hello! My LinkedIn profile went AWOL on June 1, 2025 and I haven't been able to recover it. No luck getting it back, so here I am starting fresh. It’s a bit humbling to go from 20 years of connection to zero overnight—but also a rare chance to rebuild my network more intentionally and make it even stronger. If we were connected before, I’m so grateful to see you again. And if we’re just meeting now, I’d love to connect.

Experience

  • Brand, Marketing, and Business Strategy Consultant at Lisa Stevens Consulting
    Jun 2008 - Present · 18 yrs 1 mo

I'm always advising on special consulting projects that interest and challenge me. Sometimes the "mix" of freelance project work is light because my full-time gig demands it, but at other times I'm all-in on the freelancing. It's a real privilege to be able to do both and I'm grateful for all the support I've had from leaders who understand that the optimum challenge is always worth pursuing. Effective November 2025 I'm 100% in on the freelancing again, giving myself time to advise a few select clients as a fractional CMO while I develop my ideas around supporting non-profit sustainability. I look forward to sharing more soon!

  • Chief Creative Officer (CCO) and Board Director at Power To Give Foundation
    Oct 2022 - Nov 2025 · 3 yrs 2 mos

After two years on the Board I joined the staff at Power to Give to focus full-time on building a stronger brand for this boutique philanthropic foundation. In the first six months alone we recrafted the mission, vision, and purpose, rebuilt the website, fine-tuned the 3-year strategic plan, published our first Annual Report, did a deep-dive on customer segmentation, analyzed charity alignments, crafted a sustainability plan, and much more. All in service of building a strong, trusted brand and supporting clients in their philanthropic goals. It was exciting to experience the organization, its clients, and nearly 70 charity partners gaining traction together as a result of this work.

  • British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) (Victoria, BC, Canada · On-site)
    • Chief Strategy Officer (CSO)
      Sep 2018 - Jun 2023 · 4 yrs 10 mos

Working directly with the President, my role at BCCA was to build the strategic plan and revenue diversification strategy that would reduce reliance on membership dues and build a strong foundation for this non-profit organization - all while supporting BC's construction workforce to grow and prosper. During my time there we launched several game-changing programs including the Builders Code, and set BidCentral on course to become the important industry project platform (and profit center) it is today. Revenue from programs grew 700% during my tenure as contractor and then C-suite staffer.

    • Management Consultant
      Sep 2014 - Aug 2018 · 4 yrs

  • Executive Director, ActNow BC at Government of British Columbia
    Jun 2008 - Mar 2011 · 2 yrs 10 mos

ActNow BC was a time-limited program attached to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Vancouver BC. My role as Executive Director was to develop and implement community engagement programs that would leverage the excitement of the Games to inspire all British Columbians to feel part of the action and inspired to make healthier choices in their own lives. This was a whole-of-government program led by the Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport, and our work was recognized by the World Health Organization as a best-case example of how to leverage mass sporting events for population health. Our programs included a team of 60 Olympians and Paralympians who traveled the province to inspire kids and adults to make small healthy changes in their lives. Over 100 BC communities competed in our Gamestown 2010 competition, we hosted thousands of families to test-drive the Olympic venues, and so much more. I had the privilege of working with partners across the sports and health care universe, from Participaction to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Save-On Foods, the BC Lions, and so many more.

  • Senior Vice President Marketing at AbeBooks, an Amazon company
    Jan 2004 - Jun 2008 · 4 yrs 6 mos

I joined AbeBooks three years prior to the Amazon acquisition, and lead the marketing, sales, and business development teams as we expanded inventory from used, rare, and antiquarian books into new books and textbooks. Revenues and market share grew steadily, with GMV nearing $200M USD annually. Through multichannel strategies including international bookfairs, guerilla college marketing campaigns, earned media, and directTV, Abebooks became a leading global marketplace with nearly 15,000 booksellers listing over 100M books for sale. Today, as an Amazon company, the brand and website continues to reflect the work of the team during my tenure.
