I was the sole climbing ranger and rotated shifts of 4 days on the mountain. Friday through Monday I was at base camp for the common and well frequented climbing routes. Each weekend I rotated between the North and the South designated climbing routes at 6,000 feet. I educated climbers of upcoming risks, open crevasses, hidden ice melting beneath frequently laden footsteps.
Emergency medical evaluations, treatments, and evacuation of subjects. Provide safety risk management, medical care, and rescue services to snow sports participants. Identifying and mitigating terrain risks such as avalanche hazards. Effectively communicate over the radio terrain risks and medical assessment and vitals of subjects. Set up and maintenance of rescue equipment including medical supplies, toboggans and rigging equipment.
Assist customers preparing for climbing expeditions with necessary equipment. Manage all warranties from other vendors and Feathered Friends product returns.
