I am a Program Manager with over 10 years of experience in the Australian Public Service, spanning fisheries, biosecurity and the environment. My strengths are in building positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues across government, research, industry and the community. I have an eye for detail, particularly within the Commonwealth grant and procurement project frameworks. My professional interests run to science, conservation and the environment.
A 5-month secondment with the Office of the Great Barrier Reef, supporting the review of the Reef 2050 Long Term Sustainability Plan and its reporting requirements as part of the secretariat for the Reef 2050 Advisory Committee, interdepartmental committees (at the state level), and the tripartite Reef arrangements among GBRMPA, the Federal Department of Environment, and DES.
Managing projects relating to animal health surveillance under the northern initiatives of the Agricultural Competitiveness White Paper. I administered the delivery of projects funded from $3 million over three years, and engaged closely with representatives from across state and territory jurisdictions, and other associated organisations. I provided advice on procurement to a team spanning northern Australia, as well as secretariat functions for the Northern Australia Biosecurity Surveillance Working Group.
Supported policy development for national approaches for established pest animals and weeds, including the biocontrol of carp and rabbits.
Having completed the AFMA Graduate Program in 2014, I moved into a supporting role in the operational and policy environment of the Small Pelagic Fishery. This role included secretariat support to the (former) SPFRAG, contributing to Wildlife Trade Operation reports and responses to Freedom of Information, as well as liaising with the Communication team over website content and maintenance.
